Below are guidelines for your presentation on maternal and infant mortality. This presentation should address these components (not necessarily in this order) and tell a coherent story. Prepare about 10 slides; your presentation should last no longer than 15 minutes and 10 minutes for discussion. Include your references within the slides and at the end of the PowerPoint.

- Describe the maternal and infant mortality rates in the U.S. and Baltimore, MD. How does Baltimore compare to other urban cities?
- What are the principle causes of maternal and infant mortality in the U.S.?
- Describe factors that influence maternal and infant mortality.
- Include race, ethnicity, education, housing, poverty, access to care, addiction etc
- How does the U.S. rank compared to other affluent nations in terms of maternal and infant mortality?
- Describe public health interventions to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.
- Include Baltimore City Health Department programs
- What is the role of the nurse in preventing maternal and infant mortality?
- How can C/PH nurses raise awareness of maternal and infant mortality?
