Task:
Reporting on your research in a way that helps you prepare to write your upcoming Argumentative Synthesis essay.
You will need to find, read, annotate, understand, and evaluate a total of 6 sources (though you are welcome to find more):
At least 3 must be peer-reviewed articles from academic journals.
The others can be a mix of peer-reviewed articles, primary sources (found or created by you), and trustworthy journalism sources. Remember: your credibility depends on your sources.
These sources should help to answer your research question (or at least help to refine it). Be careful as you research to make sure your sources stick to a narrow focus.
This essay requires you to focus and evolve your research questions, accurately summarize and cite sources, and critically evaluate your sources, all while planning how to synthesize sources in support of your upcoming research-based argument.
1.The correct MLA-style end citation for the article (if you use an automatic citation, you will need to clean it up—they’re often wrong).
2.A paragraph summarizing the article IN YOUR OWN WORDS. Your summary should demonstrate that you understand the source and have evaluated it for trustworthiness as well as usefulness in answering your research question. Address any possible limitations the source has.
3.A paragraph suggesting how you might use this article to build an argument. How does it connect to your other sources? How might this article function in your essay? What work might it do for you in the essay?
