The chose ethical dilemma is, “should abortion be legalized? The abortion as an ethical dilemma topic aims at answering the question concerned with the rightness or wrongness of abortion (Wu and Ida 2018). The topic is important to investigate because it is an important topic for both men and women who, in many situations, face an ethical dilemma on whether or not to terminate a pregnancy. The scope of the ethical dilemma consists of two main questions; is abortion legal or illegal? Another question is abortion morally wrong.? The topic’s significance as an ethical dilemma is to help understand whether abortion is morally wrong or whether it illegal or legal. For example, if we arrive at the conclusion that aborting is not wrong morally, then does it imply that aborting is something that right; And if we say that abortion is morally wrong, does it mean that it is always wrong to have an abortion;

The issue or problem is important since it has two opposing sides; the first side involves those supporters of abortion rights; they consider intentional abortion acceptable in some circumstances. The other side considers an abortion, which is intentionally caused is always wrong. The general statement about the issues is that although there are two debating sides, a silent victim is a foetus. The foetus is a defenseless and innocent being who is the victim of the issue.

The current understanding of the topic is that the deliberate killing of an innocent human being is wrong. A foetus which is a victim of abortion is an innocent human being. Therefore, the entire act of abortion involves killing an innocent human being who is a foetus. Hence abortion is wrong. On the other, if the foetus has a right, the woman also has a right; hence abortion is morally wrong unless it gives some right to the mother that is important morally. In this case, abortion is wrong unless it is used to save the life of the mother.
