Purpose
In this activity you will see look inside HTTP packets that you will create. You will see the HTTP Request from a browser and the HTTP Response from the web server. This activity must be completed using your own computer.
Directions
1. Using your browser, connect to RexSwain’s HTTP Viewer. You will get a screen similar to Figure 2-19 on p. 52. Take a picture of this screen – Rex Swain’s HTTP Viewer.

Please Note:
-If your screen shots in this assignment and subsequent assignments do not exactly resemble the way they appear in the book, that is fine. As new versions of operating systems and applications software we are downloading change, so does the presesentation and appearance of screens.

2. In the box labeled URL, type www.nvcc.com. Click Submit. The next screen will look like Figure 2-20 on p. 53. In the middle of the screen, under “Sending Request” you will see the HTTP packet that our browser generated.
3. Scroll down the screen and you will see the HTTP Response packet from NVCC’s web server. You will see similar HTTP Response packet in Figure 2.21, p. 54. Review the information displayed in both Request and Response headers. Take a picture of this screen.
4. Create a new WORD document and paste your two screen captures in this document. Write a short essay (3 – 4 paragraphs) describing your project results. and explain the contents of your screen captures.

What is the Content length? The Content file type?
