Essay 2: Informative Essay
- Write an essay in which you inform the reader about a topic related to your future career plans or your college major.
- Do not write the essay in first person. Instead, write in third person.
- For example, if your major is child development you could write on any topic that relates in some way to child development. You might write an essay on How to Build Self-Esteem in Teens or Adolescent Brain Development. Similarly, if you plan to enter law enforcement after you graduate you could write about any related law enforcement topic. For example, Lie Detection Techniques, Women in Law Enforcement, DNA Testing. These are just suggestions and examples to help you think about the wide variety of topics that are related to any career field or major.
Remember to follow the MLA format for submitting your essay. See Chapter 13.4 of your textbook.
- Double spaced
- 750 to 1000 words in length
