i NEED good reply to at one of my classmateâ€s responses.
good develop paragraph. In positive way.

Introduction: Hi friends! If the posting credentials didn’t fully give away my identity, my name’s Adam Ginsburg. I’m in the homestretch of a full time course load as I’ll be taking a few classes over the summer before transitioning over to practicum in that July/August/September time frame. Here’s me, gazing off into the horizon for no particular reason, depending on who you ask.
2.) Career Counseling: In an honest moment, I can really relate to many of the perspectives the students brought forth though Chandra’s resonated particularly deeply within me from a personal standpoint. Having worked immeasurably dissatisfying jobs previously and understanding how hollow they can leave you along with the impact of permeating into other facets of life, a job really is never simply a job as it can be incredibly transcendent day to day.
3.) Work and Worth: Absolutely have. The text touched upon it where it discussed that commonplace question and significant placed upon, “What do you do?” The very fabric of that question places such an emphasis upon our achievement and vocation in a sense that it has the potential to greatly minimize who we are, thus the identity we forge of ourselves is oftentimes linked to the work we do. Societally, as the text discussed, there are certain vocations that are propped up high such as lawyers, doctors, CEO’s, etc. while others are looked down upon such as retail workers so the link between what we do and who we are is often challenging to separate. I’ve seen my parents and grandparents cranking out 60-70 hour work weeks and running themselves into a fine dust because they become so burnt out trying to achieve more and more, striving for so much which can be taken away so easily.
4.) Future Trends: I think we’ve already seen it to a great degree but the movement towards more of a values based assessment has and will continue to become a paramount talking point as many ponder different avenues to travel down. More and more organizations are transitioning and fully embracing the work/life balance model providing increased flexibility and perks to employees, which has cast out the dated notion that work itself operates on an independent plane from everything else in life as it’s merely a component, a vital one, but still a component for many of us. Oftentimes in the deliberation process of pursuing a new opportunity, values emerge a ton now where there’s the overarching concern of how the new opportunity will impact our time, our headspace, our commitment to our families & relationships and so on. Simon Sinek wrote a book titled, “Start With Why” which speaks to the significance of values for employers and employees and the fusion of said values with achieving organizational objectives. The workplace is less about making copious amounts of money hand over fist, though that’s still a significant aspect, but more so that emphasis upon working somewhere that embodies the belief system and values we carry as individuals has become significantly impactful in the process as well.
5.) Future Clientele: Post licensure, I can see myself working in the spiritual counseling realm along with health psychology.
6.) Benefit of Career Counseling: Different facets at play here between spiritual counseling and health psychology but career counseling certainly could play a prevalent role in each. With spiritual counseling, that emphasis upon using career counseling principles and interventions as a means to help people find that passion that lights them up like a pinball machine could be huge along with that emphasis on stepping beyond the oftentimes limiting perspective of our own desires and looking to the needs of others. Essentially, using career counseling methodology as a means to bridge that gap between our passions and stewarding them to invest in building up others could be significant. Couple that with the concept of stepping into things that are greater than ourselves and being of service to others by what we do from a vocational standpoint could also play a role. With health psychology, it’s a bit of a different twist as the overall aim is to understand how the mental plays a role in the physical, so to speak. Perhaps clients are coming in with physical manifestations of psychological challenges from a stressful work environment, a position that seemingly lacks fulfillment, or even the stress and anxiety that accompanies being a parent and being unemployed. Overall, career counseling isn’t much different than any other form of counseling as it’s making an intentional investment in the person sitting across from you and walking with them through the midst of challenges they experience, only these being of a vocational sense.
