  • My professor want to apply concept of PROFESSIONAL IDENTITY CHAPTER 39 (I have attached on the files) to answer question on Week 1 Clinical Assignment. Please follow Assignment Grading Rubric.
  • Some of my experience today need to use for this assignment. This facility set up as a home environment for elderly people. There are 35 people living there include some couple (husband/wife). For role and function of the nurse, sometimes elderly people forgot to take medications nurse need to remind them gently. Nurse need to communicate with elderly to avoid them feel loneliness. Be patient with them because they are elderly, they got disease and they will ask some question several times. I have join the coffee time with my clinical group , we talk with them and join exercise activities with them.

 

 

 

 

 

Week 1 Clinical Assignment

Concept: Wellness and Basic Nursing

Goal: Discuss the concepts of development and professional identity

Guidelines: Refer to chapter one of the Fundamental book to guide your work according to the below points. The length should be one to two pages, not more than four pages and not including the title page or reference page.

Evaluation: follow the rubric guidelines.

  • How did you personally (in your life) focus on wellness and your semester plan this week? Were there any factors that impacted your focus positively or negatively?
  • What development stage does the age group you worked with this week fit into according to age?
  • Do you feel the individuals fit the stage and why, discuss the tasks from the theory in comparison to the individuals?
  • Write a brief explanation describing the physical, psychosocial, and cognitive development of the individuals at the facility.
  • Discuss the primary roles and functions of the nurse or worker at your clinical site related to wellness?
  • Criteria for a profession: Which of the following did you see addressed at the facility? Altruism, Body of knowledge, accountability, higher education, autonomy, code of ethics, professional organization, licensure, and diversity.

  • The workbook contains your paperwork for each week along with grading rubrics and helpful information.
  • The Wellness clinical is to meet the objectives by connecting the course content to the clinical site experience.
  • The clinical experience focuses on the introduction to nursing as a discipline with an emphasis on the concepts of wellness, communication, lifespan, clinical judgment and physiologic processes.
  • The instructor will guide the experience and no skill or task is to be completed without the instructors’ approval.
  • The weekly-completed work is due to your instructor, by drop box, the Saturday following the clinical experience by midnight with the grading rubric included.
  • The drop box is located under drop boxes on the course blackboard site under clinical resources.
  • If you do not receive a satisfactory with the first submission the faculty comments can be addressed and the paper may be resubmitted a second time to reach a satisfactory grade. After the second submission an unsatisfactory is given and the student must set up a meeting with the course lead faculty to discuss a plan of action for the work.
  • You will be rotating to three different clinical sites with 20 hours at each site.
  • Assignments (included in the workbook) will be completed at each site. There will be no clinical assignment for week 3, week 6, and week 9.
