This is a research proposal assignment; (A quantitative research proposal is a written report of a potential research project).
Use APA format: A double-spaced 5 page draft of the first few sections of your final research proposal. You are asked to design a reasonable study that flows coherently from your area of interest through all the aspects of a study. Keep it simple. A reader should be able to tell from your purpose just what you will be doing in the study.
it must meet all the requirements of the assignment, including being a correlational/interrelational, quasi-experimental, or true experimental study. Your study cannot be purely descriptive univariate.
Do not attempt to tackle very complex issues.

This assignment has three parts, the below description is for part one of the research proposal. After submission of part one of the assignment, you will receive grade and feedback which will guide you into the part two and part three of the assignment.
Assignment description
Identify or selects a quantitative research topic or problem in nursing science to focus on. After you have identified your research topic, you will draft your plan for only the following areas:
1. Title; introduction (so background information about the area of interest or topic, not an introduction to a scholarly paper); The introduction sets out the reason for the research and possible contribution to the field of study
2. literature review; (A research literature review is a written summary of evidence on a research problem, The literature review section describes and analyzes similar research studies and sets a rationale for a new study based upon the existing literature). what does the literature has to say about the topic chosen. Current state of knowledge that exist on your topic and the need for a new research. Determination of gaps or inconsistencies in a body of research. (you should rely mostly on PRIMARY SOURCE research reports, which are descriptions of studies written by the researchers who conducted them).
3. statement of purpose; this summarizes your study goal or summarizes the purpose of your study
4. theoretical framework; (A Framework is the overall conceptual underpinnings of a study. What is the theoretical framework that guide your study)
5. research question or study hypothesis: what is your study hypothesis
6. what is the significance of the research question to knowledge development.
Note: (literature search strategy must be included in the appendices), i.e what strategy did you use in searching for evidence. For example, Key Electronic Databases for Nurses are; CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature), MEDLINE® (Medical Literature on-Line), Google scholar.
