Every good business needs an edge over their competition to maintain Profits. In todayâ€s mobile society, laptops and desktops are no longer a realistic option. Tablets are the future. Our business is at the height of its success with the latest merger with Unicorn Technologies. We want to show our Partners that we are the edge that can beat any competition.
Background and Problem with Desktops and Laptops
Society is becoming more mobile and businesses that canâ€t keep up with the times, get left behind. eventually they lose their competitive edge and become obsolete. Traditional desktops and laptops are a way of the past. As explained by Matt Schulz, “They’re smaller, lighter, more portable and can do just about everything that laptops can do” (n.d., Para.1). As a company, we need to maintain our edge over the competition by upgrading current traditional laptops and desktops to more mobile devices such as tablets. This upgrade will ensure that we maintain our competitive edge through:
Increasing efficiency and mobility
Increasing morale and work production
Purpose
We would like to propose that the company board approves a motion to upgrade all traditional laptops and desktops to the 10.5-inch iPad Pros based on our research comparing the two top tablet companies, Apple and Android.
Scope of the study and Research Methods
The study was limited to comparing the Apple iPad Pro to the Samsung Galaxy Tablet S2 which are the latest models for each company. The study took into consideration primary and secondary data. Our study compared the following areas:

In our research, we started with specification comparisons of the latest models from the two top tablet producers, Apple and Android. We used secondary sources for this part of the study (2018, Para.1).
10.5 Inch Apple iPad Pro
According to the Apple website, the Apple iPad Pro costs $649. It also comes standard with a 64 Mega Byte (MB) Memory with an option to upgrade to a maximum 512 GB memory. Lastly, it comes with a 10.5 inch screen for easy readability (2018, Para. 1).
Samsung Galaxy Tablet S2
According to Amazonâ€s specifications of Androidâ€s Samsung Galaxy Tablet S2, the cost is $799. It comes with a 64 MB memory just like the iPad Pro but 64 MB is the max for this model 32MB is standard. Lastly, itâ€s screen is 9.7 inches, which is comparably smaller that the Apple iPad Pro.

Findings (Part 2)
In this part of our research, we utilized primary sources to compare Apple and Android. Our primary sources were first-hand testimonies from consumers and companies that employ individuals to complete consumer reports.
According to Matt Swider and Cameron Faulkner, who are employed by, “Apple is sitting cozily at the top of our list with two great options for tablet lovers because of its better tablet software, and it’ll double down on its efforts with the launch of ios 11” (2017, Para. 2). Swider and Faulkner also question, “Will the launch of Android Oreo be enough to dethrone Apple’s IOS 11? Probably not” (2017, Para. 3).
Donna Tapellini states the first reason she would take an Apple iPad over an Android Tablet, is because, “Android is catching up to Apple as far as having many of the best apps. But Appleâ€s App Store is still the first platform of choice for many developers” (2014, Para. 2). Second, according to Tapellini, If you donâ€t like fussing with app and folder groupings, and you think widgets and customized user interfaces just muddy the waters, itâ€s best to stick with the iPad” (2014, Para. 3). Lastly, according to Tapellini’s choice of using the iPad over an Android Tablet is, “Android tablets are all over the place when it comes to OS versions, and some apps donâ€t work on the older versions. If you donâ€t want to worry about that sort of thing, you know with Apple that all the latest apps will work with the newest tablets” (2014, Para. 4).
