Discuss at least two effects on U.S. citizens that stem from the division of power between the federal and state governments.
Keep in mind that federalism is a requirement in the Constitution, so ending or weakening federalism requires a constitutional amendment.

What are some examples of where the states have ignored the Constitution and ignored federal matter?
Be careful not to mistake federalism for nationalism…just because it is called the “Federal” government does not mean it always acts federalist. Be sure and review the examples posted in the Instructor Insights section and ask questions if it is unclear (do not worry, this part gets confusing, so please ask questions or give the professor a call).
Respond To Peer Below:
Hello everyone
Federalism is a system of government in which the same territory is controlled by two levels of government. It has important role because it shares power with the state and federal government. Federalism is intended to both safe guard state interests while creating a strong union led by an effective natural government. The United States uses progressive federalism that is based on devolution. The United states share the same power in geographic areas, while other countries give more power to overall central government.
Week 4 Discussion US Gov

· Identify at least three effects on political ideologies that arise from the existence of only two major political parties in the U.S.

· How have the two major parties changed over the course of the past several decades? (NOTE: The Live Lectures will help answer this part)
· Which party is actually the party of the “rich” and which is the party of the “poor”? …Don’t just copy what you find on the Internet; prove what you find.
Respond to Peer Below:
Hello, class and professor hope everyone had a good weekend.
Two parties create a division of issues that then helps to classify problems, Members of both equally parties will share the same equal core beliefs, and when two parties come together and make it easy to be able to run for office doing this helps it to stand out more like one party. These three effects on political ideologies arise from the existence of only two major political in the U.S. next question The constitution of the USA as we stand as a citizen can represent and form a political party due to the past many people tried to create a political as for the third party but where never able to accomplish it. The two parties systems we have are built into a structure of U.S elections meaning that one was for the geographic district to be able to lead to dominance with two major political parties. Politicians succeed to be able to organize for them selfs to grow their own ambitions politicians to where they can act in interests and collective aspiration As politicians, the goal is to win control of the government in a way to accumulating to run political campaigns this also gives policy that can appeal to a large number of of voters to be able to secure electoral majorities. The two major parties have changed in a way that in 1796 where Hamilton became a federalist party and then headed by Madison on the democratic-republican party these two at one point argued the faction how it can be bad for the government. but they were the cause of the split into parties. and after a hundred years later some kind of leadership picked candidates big move.

Respond to Peer Below:
Good Evening Class and Professor Salley,
I will address: Consider how the media influences political parties and voters…
It is amazing when it is time to elect a president or someone to fill a seat in the House of Representatives or Congress, the television is flooded with ads. You can easily determine who the ad is representing by pictures, negative words, or actions against their opponent. You never hear the opponent speak kind words of their running mate. And the reason being, he/she want to WIN. It does not matter if what is shown, was taken out of context, or cut from one clip and pasted to anther to prove a negative point. This is the FAST way of being heard and getting the message out as to who is running and whom they are running against. People that do NOT have the time to read and research for themselves…prefer to take the easy route. How convenient. The problem is, what if what you are being told IS NOT TRUE. And you are basing your decision—on lies.
It really is not the media’s fault. The media knows, in this technological stage, people want the answer NOW, true, or not—just fast. The ideology is this, you are letting the media decide for you because you do not have the time to research yourself.
Thanks,
Pam

Week 3 Discussion Human Resources
Organizations have to develop an international human resources management strategy when they expand globally. Which do you think is more critical for international human resources management?
· Understanding the cultural environment.
· Understanding the political and legal environment.
Please choose one position and give a rationale; examples are also a way to demonstrate your understanding of the learning concepts.
Respond to Peer Below:
I believe that understanding the cultural environment is critical for international human resource management. Culture includes people’s belief systems, their values, the language and mannerism. Culture is what makes a body of people who they are. As a company seeks to do business internationally, they need to be mindful of the cultural beliefs and practices of the country with which they intend to do business. When companies share commonalities, it can make the collaboration a little more seamless and easier to execute. It is when there are major differences between the two that it becomes more challenging. One culture difference that can cause issues is if the country the business is working with speaks a different language. That can definitely pose a barrier when communication cannot be interpreted because it is not recognized or understood. A countries religious practices and power roles can also be cultural practices that affect the success of international business as well. Because there are so many aspects of a countries cultural environment that can affect the ability of managers being able to affectively execute a business plan leads me to believe that it is vitally important for the managers to familiarize themselves with the culture. By doing so they can minimize or eliminate any issues that may make operating internationally difficult.

Organizations must find the best candidate for a job among a pool of many applicants. Which basic selection criterion do you feel is the most critical in hiring? Give a rationale for your decision along with examples:
· Education and experience.
· Skills and abilities.
· Personal characteristics.
· Hiring for fit.
Reply to Peer Below:
Hello Everyone,
For this discussion i feel that the most critical in hiring would have to be Education and experience because you don’t want to hire anyone without some type of school degree far as a GED, Diploma, or a college degree because their not as educated properly with evidence to show that they have some kind of education. Far as experience that’s a huge must have for just about any career. For example you don’t want to hire a person to become a supervisor for a pharmacy center without any medical degree and or previous experience while being around tons of medicines that they don’t too much no about.
