My unknown was unknown #18.
I did the gram staining and my unknown turned out to be a gram positive cocci. My unknown was determined to be streptococcus faecalis
talk about what is is then focus on the experimnts done to come to this conclusion
For the unknown culture give the colony morphology, catalase reactions, glucose, lactose fermentation reaction, starch Hydrolysis test , reaction in nitrate broth, motility of selected stains , blood agar, methyl red/voges-proskauer. I will also like endospore formation, temperature optimum, oxygen requirement, culture characteristics (tsa broth, Tsa slant , streak plate) please include charts and more info . You can look into BERGEY’s Manual
